Description
English: A mosque near the Yediklue Fortress, the Hacı Hüseyin Ağa Mosque: It was built by Ahmet Dede in 1603 as a masjid-tekke. The imam of the masjid, Ali Efendi, had a pulpit built and turned it into a mosque. Ahmet Dede also had a large stone fountain built in front of the entrance door of the Hacı Hüseyin Ağa Mosque. The mosque, which was repaired in 1945, was repaired again by the Conservation Society in 1970. It is also known as the Arab Gate Masjid. It is rumored that this name was given to the courtyard because an Arab dug a well. Hacı Hüseyin Ağa Mosque was also used as a lodge by the Halveti-Sünbüli order. The building continued to be used as a mosque after the dervish lodges were closed in the Republican period.
