A U.S. Navy Grumman TBF Avenger of Torpedo Squadron VT-51, with battle damage visible on its wing, flies over a Japanese Ise-class battleship and a destroyer during the Battle off Cape Engaño. VT-51 flew from the aircraft carrier USS San Jacinto (CVL-30). According to The Maru Special No.12 the battleship should be Ise and destroyer Shimotsuki |
