שימושים במי קולחין

השימוש העיקרי של מי קולחין הוא בחקלאות. במצב כזה, לא נדרשים מים באיכות מקסימלית, ומי ביוב או שפכים אשר עברו טיהור תחת פיקוח מחמיר, יכולים בהחלט לעשות את העבודה. באמצעות מי קולחין להשקיה, ניתן לגדל עשרות גידולים חקלאיים, ביניהם ירקות ופירות המיועדים למאכל אדם.

מלבד זאת, שימוש במי קולחין תורם לחיסכון במים, מכיוון שמים אלה מכילים חומרים שונים המסייעים להשבחת הקרקע, וכך נחסך הצורך באמצעי דישון שונים. דבר זה מהווה חיסכון כלכלי לא מבוטל עבור הגורמים בענף החקלאות, שנאבקים בעור שיניהם על מנת להמשיך לספק גידולים לצרכן הישראלי, ובמחיר סביר ככל האפשר
