Iron Age to Medieval shelly ware fragments (back)
Description
English: A group of 17 fragments from the body of a coarse Iron Age to Medieval shelly ware vessel (c. 800 BC- c. AD 1200). The matrix is hard. The exterior surfaces are coarse and dark brown in colour while the interior surfaces are dark grey. The core is a lighter grey colour. The matrix contains a moderate density of angular well sorted crushed flint, black sand and grog. The fragments weigh a combined 97.01 grams.
