Iron Age potin
Description
English: Iron Age coin; Cast copper alloy uninscribed British potin, ‘Class I’ type, of probable early 1st century BC date. The coin has the remains of the sprue from the mould projecting from the side. Very worn on the obverse but clearer on the reverse.

Obv. Stylised helmeted head facing right (Hobbs’ profile n) No inscription Rev. Stylised bull butting right with two crescents above, a pellet and a plain line below No inscription

Diameter 15.8mm (without sprue), width 16.0mm (inc sprue), thickness 0.7mm, weight 0.97g
