English: An Iranian mariner waves to the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) after he and another man were picked by an Iranian coast guard search and rescue vessel in the Persian Gulf, Nov. 18, 2010. Oscar Austin, part of Combined Task Force (CTF) 152, provided food and water to the mariners after spotting their life raft and remained on scene until the Iranian coast guard arrived to retrieve them. CTF 152 coordinated theater security cooperation activities with regional partners and conducted maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. |
