Machad - 2ème ville d'Iran ("ville sainte")

Iran - Machad durant le mois lunaire de Moharram Dans le calendrier shi'te, c'est le mois de deuil -> commémoration du martyre de l'immam Hossein, tué à Kerbala -> grandes célébrations accompagnées de processions de fidèles qui se frappent la poitrine et se flagellent, avec des lamentations, de la musique et des bannières. L'eau des fontaines est colorée en rouge pour représenter le sang du massacre
