English: Low resolution screenshot from the public domain version of the film Intolerance (1916). A scene from the Babylonian story of the film. In the Love Temple, a half-naked woman veiled in gauze with backlighting dances. Scenes such as this were shot by another director than D. W. Griffith, and are deleted from most existing versions of the film. The use of diaphanous clothing such as this was not permitted in later films after the Hays Code was enforced in 1933. |
