This was taken immediately after preparing the chip, the acrylic panel I use when scraping is visible in the background. I was pretty excited to finally get a Haswell chip opened up. They appear to be thinner than all other dies I've tried so far. I've attempted 2 prior to this and they both snapped multiple times. I've learned a lot on how to prevent the chips from snapping, ensuring the blade is always angled corner to corner is critical. I'm not sure why this helps so much, I think the internal wiring of the chip may be harder to snap at an angle. |
