Description

Inocybe phaeocomis var. major (S.W. Peterson) Kuyper

  • Location: Alpine Lake, Marin County, California, USA.
  • Observation Notes: A single Inocybe phaeocomis var. major mushroom growing near a live oak tree and perhaps a fir tree. Its cap is 2.4 cm across and its color a little less reddish than the photos show.
  • Spores ~ 9.0-12.0 X 5.1-6.0 microns, smooth and somewhat pointed.
