Description
English: This holiday, which falls on the night before the new moon of the last lunar cycle of winter, falls on February-March. The festival "Shivaratri" is celebrated several times a year, but this one is considered the most important, which is why it bears the prefix "maha" - great, main. Believers read "katha" - stories about Shiva, and sing hymns in his honor. After the holiday, which lasts a day, the fair begins.
