Summary
[edit]DescriptionIncoming tide - geograph.org.uk - 601502.jpg |
English: Incoming tide The tide has almost submerged the seaward ends of the wooden groynes and the waves will soon reach the sea wall. Groynes are wooden or stone constructions built into the sea in order to stop sand and pebbles from being moved by the tide waters and hence to stabilise and protect the beach. Wooden groynes are no longer being made. |
