Description
Italiano: Incendio del Teatro San Carlo del 12 febbraio 1816. (Collezione Palazzo Zevallos, Napoli).


"Incendio del Real Teatro San Carlo, olio su carta intelata (37x54), firmato in basso a dx "S.Fergola 1816". In occasione della mostra a palazzo Zevallos Stigliano, sono emersi dubbi sulla firma di Fergola. Infatti viene riportato come "ignoto", attivo nella prima metà del secolo XIX. Lo stesso dicasi per il dipinto "Il Real Teatro San Carlo dopo l'incendio", in questo secondo quadro dopo la pulitura e rimozione delle ridipinture emerse una seconda firma "De Stefano / dipinse 1818". Le firme S. Fergola nei due dipinti sarebbero dunque un camuffamento databile intorno alla metà del 900" (Salvatore Imperato).
