Summary
[edit]DescriptionImmerath St Lambertus Sept 2014.jpg |

The church building was built from 1888 to 1891 according to plans of the Cologne architect in a "neo-Romanesque architectural style" Erasmus Schüller. The Church was deconsecrated on 13 October 2013. The handover to RWE Power AG, the operator of the Rhenish brown coal district, took place in April 2014. The church building is to be demolished now. A new chapel is built on the new village for the people. The church bells from the 15th and 17th centuries are to be converted to new Immerath. In the picture you can see that a sound hatch of the left tower was broken out for the expansion of the bells.
