"Imbroglio" , by Erik Pevernagie Oil on canvas. .xxx
If we feel lost in a maze of emotions, submerged by the perplexing and overwhelming nature of our existence, we must find meaning and resolution in our lives. When we are enclosed by misperceptions and unable to break free into clear communication or mutual understanding, we must demine the brushwoods of controversial and thorny issues. When " the thesis and antithesis" of our lives can be reconciled through "synthesis" and clashing ideas or situations resolved, we can break free from conflicts and open a new world of comprehensive views. Misunderstandings or disagreements can lead to embroiled situations. When we find ourselves in a labyrinthine condition or a claustrophobic situation, we face a subversive imbroglio. In an imbroglio, we desperately seek a physical or mental outcome, an escape from emotional sequestration or an oppressive position. Imbroglios make us doubt the truth and ourselves. Truth and facts often have a contrary message with a trying mission to show the cards' actual color shuffled in the rough-and-tumble of our social and political arena. We might not be able to know what reality is about, but we must be aware of the explicitness of facts. To better grasp the intricate nature of the truth and its ambiguity, we must scrutinize facts and discover their codes. Yet, we cannot ignore that reality is a very intriguing place since facts may be construed, receive variant contexts, and create alternate outcomes, which, in turn, might spark new realities over and over again. After tail spinning into chaos, one needs a bolt-hole to resource and 'challenge' oneself, break free from the haunting constrictions, squirrel back into bouncy and buoyant surroundings, and enjoy the many laugh-out-loud moments of the day. As soon as one manages to wobble out of one's shell, everything clicks into place again, and the radiance and glare of the bright side of life show again.
