Text Appearing Before Image: ults of thisinvestigation, together with a few obser-vations concerning similar relations foundin other domestic animals, are included inthe following pages. In this connection,I would express my thanks to Dr. L. F.Barker, of the University of Chicago, inwhose laboratory some of the latter partof the work was done. The specimens examined, 34 in all,were preserved in formalin (5^) or a mix-ture of formalin and alcohol (formalinb^i, alcohol 70^). The vessels were in-jected with Griiblers gelatin injectionmass. Five specimens were imbedded incelloidin or paraffin and sectioned. The remaining specimens were ex-amined after hardening, by means of free-hand razor sections. The penis of the cat has the typical mammalian form, as shown inFig. 1. AVithin the glans is sometimes found the os penis (Figs. 2 1 Tliere is a brief reference in Bonnets Entwicklungsgescbichte der Haussauge-tbiere to the fact that in the cat the corpora cayernosa are largely transformed intoa non-erectile fatty cushion.
