Text Appearing After Image: Yeocomico CnuKCHOn the Potonaac, Westniorehind County, Virginia. It was built in 1710. POTOMAC LANDINGS 53 time the congestion manifests itself where the distancebetween the Rappahannock and the Potomac is nar-rowest, from Rosier Creek to Potomac Creek, and theadjustment is not made by the familiar expedient ofdividing off an undetermined wilderness beyond asouth line. On this occasion Westmoreland on thePotomac and Richmond on the Rappahannock weredivided to form the new county. In 1777 that portionof Westmoreland lying along the river north and west ofa line run * directly to Washingtons mill on RosiersCreek and down the said creek to Potomack Riverwas contributed to the new county of King George. Prince William County was erected in the year 1730,3rd and 4th of George II. The process was thedivision of Stafford, and all of the river north of Chapa-womsic Creek was given to the new county.
