First flying in 1945, the IL-12 was a passenger airliner and military transport designed to replace the Li-2. 663 were built between 1946 and 1949. The 'T' version was a military transport for Arctic operations and had a larger cargo door. Believed to be the only example remaining in Russia, the museums example is sadly hidden behind other aircraft, this shot being taken under the wing of the Tu-114. c/n 30218. On display at the Russian Air Force Museum. Monino, Russia. 13-8-2012 |
