English: Plaque on the west facade of Modena Cathedral dedicating the church to Saint Geminianus (Gimignano). The postscript, in smaller letters, praises the skill of Wiligelmo, the principal sculptor of the carvings on the church exterior; see inscription below.

Italiano: Mentre il Cancro supera trionfale il corso dei Gemelli - nel tempo del mese di giugno il quinto giorno prima delle idi - l'anno dell'incarnazione di Dio mille e cento meno uno - fu fondato questo Duomo del grande Geminiano
English: While Cancer (June/July) mounts after triumphant Gemini (May/June) on the 5th Ides of the month of June (9th of June) thousandonehundred years minus one after the time of the incarnation of God (1099), the foundation of this house of the illustrious Geminianus is laid. Now, Wiligelmo, this building shines with your sculpture; may you be worthy of as much honour among sculptors.
