[edit]DescriptionIgreja de Santa Marinha - Moreira de Rei - Portugal (5244351632).jpg | Moreira de Rei foi uma importante localidade do Interior Beirão nos conturbados tempos de afirmação do mundo asturiano-leonês no Ocidente peninsular. Fazendo parte do complexo militar que, pelos meados do século IX, passou para a posse do Mosteiro de Guimarães, o primeiro templo incluía uma necrópole de sepulturas escavadas na rocha localizadas no adro da igreja actual. Esta, é posterior, estilisticamente conotada com o Românico tardio, quando a autoridade portuguesa estava já estabelecida. O orago, todavia, manteve-se da igreja pré-românica. É um templo de dimensões modestas, comum na nossa arquitectura religiosa dos séculos XII e XIII, de nave única a que se adossa capela-mor rectangular, mais baixa e estreita que o corpo. O portal principal é em arco de volta perfeita, de duas arquivoltas assentes em colunelos de capitéis sumariamente decorados com motivos vegetalistas. Do lado Sul, existe uma remodelada porta de acesso ao interior, onde ainda se pode ver a curvatura do arco original, levemente apontado. Neste alçado, subsistem as mísulas de apoio de um desaparecido alpendre. O interior é marcado pelo arco triunfal, quase a pleno centro e decorado com moldura exterior geométrica.A história do monumento acompanhou o declínio da própria localidade, facto que levou à ruína do edifício pelo final da época moderna. Em 1853, ano em que Alexandre Herculano visitou a vila, a igreja estava destelhada e arruinada.
