byssinia, 18 April, 1899. (No. 483.)(Type of the species.) Though allied to F. schuelti Cab. this species appears to bequite distinct. It ditlers chiefly in having the dark middlesto the feathers of the nape, interscapular region, and wing-coverts but faintly indicated, and the chest and breast nearlyuniform greyish brown. Iris brown ; bill dull orange-red ;legs and feet orange-red. Total length 125 inches, culmen105, wing 65, tail 265, tarsus I65.
