Summary

[edit]
Description
English: On 27 April 2022, Team Teg celebrated its 10th anniversary. During these 10 years of service to the nation, INS Teg has deployed extensively for numerous missions including anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, providing maritime security in the seas of India's maritime partner nations, participating in the International Fleet Review 2016, goodwill visits to partner nations, SAR missions, exercises with other regional navies, and most recently, the President's Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam in February 2022. INS Teg, a frontline Guided Missile ASW Stealth Frigate of the Western Fleet was commissioned into service on 27 April 2012 at Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia. The first of the follow-on ships of the Talwar Class, 'Teg' is named after a short single-edged curved sword, traditionally used by Sikhs. A veritable mobile fortress, Teg is armed to the teeth with diverse, state-of-the-art armament to pack a punch across the spectrum of maritime warfare. The ship's motto - 'Towards Eternal Glory' aptly summarises her indomitable spirit. Fondly known as 'Teg Tigers', the crew is determined to fight for the nation's cause and surmount the most challenging odds in pursuit of victory. The ship's war cry 'Adamya Saahas Prachand Weg, Teg! Teg! Teg!' forewarns all adversaries of the ship's ability to deliver a lightning blow with indomitable spirit, against all odds.
