Description
English: INS Tarangini, first Sail Training Ship of the Indian Navy celebrated her 25 anniversary on 11 November 2022. This is a significant milestone post successful completion of seven month long Lokayan 2022.The ship is a 'Three Masted Barque' built at GSL and commissioned on 11 November 1997. She has steamed over 2,70,000 nautical miles and successfully undertaken circumnavigation in 2003 to 2004 and five Lokayans in 2005, 2007, 2015, 2018 and 2022. As part of the first Training Squadron at SNC, she has been at forefront providing first hand experience of life onboard a sail ship to budding officers of Indian Navy and fostering virtues of courage, camaraderie and endurance.
