Description
English: As part of commemorating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indian Navy ships are progressively visiting 75 Indian ports to raise awareness on coastal security amongst the local population. INFAC T-82, a fast attack craft based at WNC, anchored off the famous sea forts off the Maharashtra coast - Khanderi, Underi, Murud Janjira and Padmadurg - between 23 February 2022 and 2 March 2022. The objective of the ship’s presence off historic forts that played a pivotal role in strengthening maritime security and protecting the Indian coast from invading forces in the 17th and 18th centuries was to instill a spirit of patriotism amongst locals and tourists visiting these places.
