The Illustrated London News, 1873, p. 412. HMS Challenger (Two images), and SC Seine a cable laying ship off Brazil (active till at least 1873-1897) aka TS Seine. The CS Seine on her maiden voyage as a cable ship, assisted by CS Minia, laid the section from Carcavelos to Madeira, beginning in August 1873. * CS Seine, maiden voyage 1873[1][2]
