Moonbuggy Ganymed: Dieses Moonbuggy ist der Prototyp des ersten internationalen Teilnehmers am NASA-Moonbuggy Race, einem naturwissenschaftlichen WEttbewerb zur Förderung und Gewinnung junger Talente für das Ingenieurwesen.

Der erste STrich aufder zeichnung war im Dezember 2006. Seither ist es jedes jahr grundlegend verbessert worden und erreichte bis zu 10 internationale Preise, darunter die Würdigung der russischen Raumfahrtargentur ROSCOSMOS 2007, swn NASA-Weltmeistetitel 2010 und den NASA Best International Team Award 2012.

Die Taufe fand am 12. April 2007 in Huntsville Alabama vor der "Von Braun Research Hall" an der UAH im Beisein des leitenden Ingenieurs (Treibwerke) der Apollo-Ära statt. Der Name "Ganymed" steht für den größten Mond im Sonnensystem (Jupiter), welcher eine erdähnliche Gravitation besitzt.

Der Moonbuggy Ganymed wird 2012 außer Dienst gestellt und dient damit als Trainings- und Ausstellungsfahrzeug für die jungen Konstrukteurteams des International Space Education Institutes. Auf der Basis dieses Moonbuggys entstand die Ganymed-Serie mit bislang 4 Sereinfahrzeugen.
