   (na 1951: Museumplein). Het opblazen van de heteluchtballon 'De Stad Amsterdam' van H. Roodenhof d.d. 18-09-1893. Bij de tweede poging op woensdag 20 september scheurde de geheel nieuwe``, van percal vervaardigde``, 1000 m3 grote ballon. Op de achtergrond de Koninklijke Waskaarsenfabriek aan de Boerenwetering.
