Description

This view of the Hypersonic Free-Flight Aerodynamic Facility’s test section shows it illuminated by red safelights that did not expose the 32 shadowgraph film panels (2 per station) prior to a test. Kerr cell shutters at each station open for a few nanoseconds to capture images of the model and surrounding flow field as the model passes.
