Staff at the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center were treated to a unique sight last week when they witnessed a coyote and badger hunting together. Badgers and coyotes are known to collaborate with each other to catch burrowing rodents such as ground squirrels and prairie dogs. In this photo you can see the unlikely pair hunting on a black-tailed prairie dog colony in northern Colorado.
