mi es. oWinnipeg, via C.P.R., 747 miles (this may be reduced about 90 miles, by cut offs between Savanne and Nipigon and elsewhere). To Montreal, via C.P.R., 675 miles. To Ottawa, 555 miles. To Toronto, S37 miles. From Moose River to Uv^ England, 3,050 miles, being a few miles less than from Liverpool to New York by usual steamer route. The Missanabie route to Hudsons Bay from the C. P. R. is, at least, 150 miles less than by located lines projected from the C. V. K. at hdbur> ° °r ^TRAFFIC-No considerable export traffic from the fisheries of Hudsons Bay can be permanently established over any route which does not reach the main line of waterway transit on the great lakes west of the straits of Mackrailway line in that ditection can prove profitable.
