English: [Stenography], vel Notis excipere or short-hand in a much more easy, exact, speedy, lineal, and ledgible method than any yet extant, [ca. 1730]. Autograph manuscript notebook in the hand of C. (probably Caleb) Phillips, [Boston?], transcribing text from and notes on Stenography compleated, or The art of short-hand brought to perfection, London, 1727, by James Weston (1688-1751). Weston was a teacher and practitioner of stenography in London. Weston wrote the most extensive English stenographical lecture book, Stenography compleated, published in 1727. |
