Description
English: Darwin's wind tower with one-way inlet louvres collect wind and direct it upward to turn the horizontally rotating wind sails set on a vertical axle to transfer power for useful work. The tower was designed in 1768 and completed at Josiah Wedgewood's pottery manufactory at Etruria in 1779. It was utilized until replaced by a steam engine.
