Description
English: Hotel Kerssen-Brons in Hopsten, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The timber framed building is a listed cultural heritage monument.
Deutsch: Das Hotel Kerssen-Brons, Marktplatz 1 in Hopsten, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Das zweigeschossige Fachwerkhaus mit Putzgefachen bzw. einem Giebeldreieck als Ziegelgefache sowie Satteldach ist als Vierständerbau errichtet. Die Geschosse sind auf drei Seiten leicht vorkragend. Das Gebäude stammt aus dem Jahr 1750 und diente als Wohnhaus, Hotel und Gastwirtschaft. Als – laut Denkmalliste des Kreises Steinfurt – „bedeutendes Zeugnis der Fachwerkarchitektur des Ortes im 18. Jahrhundert“ steht es seit 1986 unter Denkmalschutz. Seine Lage am Marktplatz als Gegenüber zum Kettelerhaus (Marktplatz 5) gibt dem Haus demnach zusätzlich großes städtebauliches Gewicht.
