Description
English: SS 'Margarethe Cords', (German cargo ship, built 1927, 1912 grt, 81.4 x 12.8 x 5.5 m, speed 9 knots), off-loading timber, imported from Scandinavia, at Pundt & Kohn pier, at the Querkanal, Geestemünde, Bremerhaven, in 1929. - The cargo ship was built by Neptun Werft A. G., Rostock in 1927 and owned by Cords A. - August Cords & Co, Rostock. It was torpedoed 17.03.1945 and sunk in the Baltic Sea, south of Bornholm, Denmark (54°48′N 15°00′E) by K-53 ( Soviet Navy).
