Summary

[edit]
Description The harbor-side of Holbrooks General Store. This new dock is on the site where a large wharf extended into the harbor. It was built in 1853 by Sid Watson and sold to Ed Holbrook in 1907 and destroyed in a hurricane in 1938. (A hurricane of historic size and intensity swept up the east coast, across Long Island in NY, without warning that year.) A new wharf was constructed to the right of this picture 1945.
