Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Students perform a traditional Hmong dance at a high school on the outskirts of Vientiane, Laos. The Hmong are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Laos, making up about 8-10% of the population. Some of the boys hold a khene (khaen), a traditional pipe instrument. In this dance, it is used more as a prop than as a musical instrument. The dance performance was done in appreciation to Big Brother Mouse, a literacy project that had visited the school that day with books and interactive educational activities.
