Description
English: Part of an Easter Sepulchre from Metelen, Kreis Steinfurt, Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany. This Easter Sepulchre was put up temporarily for the annual ceremonies of Holy Week until 1955. Here two of the instruments of the passion of Jesus Christ (beared by a putto) are shown. Today these kind of Easter Sepulchres are common in Austria and southern Germany.
Deutsch: Hl-Grab-Kulisse (Ostergrab) aus Metelen, Ss. Cornelius&Cyprianus (ehem. Stiftskirche d freiweltlichen adeligen Damenstiftes). Augenscheinlich Barock.
