Description
Deutsch: Freising, Domberg: Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus.
Wenn man vor dem Diözesanmuseum steht, blickt man gegenüber auf die moderne Westseite des Kardinal-Döpfner-Hauses.
  • Links ist eine giebelseitige Wand mit einer großen Bauplane verhüllt. Sie ist dekorativ gestaltet und zeigt Egid Quirin und Cosmas Damian Asam auf den Auslegerarmen zweier Baukräne. (Obwohl die Gebrüder Asam als Baustellen-Profis in ihrem Leben auf vielen Baugerüsten herumgeklettert sind, hätten sie über die modernen Maschinen sicher gestaunt ...)
  • Weiter rechts ist zweimal der hl. Martin von Tours dargestellt: groß als Bischof, daneben kleiner in der Szene der Mantelteilung. Das Wandmosaik bezieht sich offenbar auf die 1965 in das Kardinal-Döpfner-Haus eingebaute Kapelle St. Martin und dürfte um dieselbe Zeit entstanden sein.
