Title |
English: Hiker in lava tube |
||||
Description |
English: A woman in a black tank top stands lit up by a beam of light coming through a hole in the ceiling of the lava tube. The cave surrounding the woman is dark. The walls of the cave are dark rock. The Lava Tube is one of Mojave National Preserve's most popular attractions. It was formed by an erupting cinder cone volcano about 27,000 years ago. The road to access the lava tube is bumpy and not regularly maintained. It you want to see a light beam (as is shown in this picture), try to visit in the middle of the day, when the sun is directly overhead.
