Summary

[edit]
Description

Native, warm-season, perennial, tufted, short-lived (2-5 years) grass to 1.5 m tall (usually less than 1 m). Most commonly found in native pastures of woodlands and open forests that are periodically burnt and where rainfall is less than 1000mm.

One of the more productive grasses on low fertility soils. Quickly produces good quantities of soft leaf for the hard conditions in which it grows, but quality drops off at flowering.
