Français : Le héron mélanocéphale est un grand oiseau d’oiseau d’eau, présent dans une grande partie du parc pendjari où il est le principal résident, de 85 centimètres de haut, et avec une envergure de 150 centimètres. Il est presque aussi grand que le héron cendré, auquel il ressemble par l'aspect, bien qu'il soit généralement plus foncé. Son vol est lent, avec son cou rétracté.
English: The melanocephalous heron is a large waterbird, found in much of Pendjari Park where it is the main resident, 85 centimeters high, and with a wingspan of 150 centimeters. It is almost as large as the gray heron, which it looks like in appearance, although it is generally darker. Its flight is slow, with its neck retracted.
