Phipps is wearing a rubberized flight suit to protect him in case he were to crash in the frigid wintertime Atlantic Ocean waters. Phipps was born in 1913 in Baltimore, Maryland[1], and died on 9 November 2007 in Cockeysville, Maryland[2]. |
