Description
English: Hemaris diffinis (Boisduval, 1836) - snowberry clearwing moth in Ohio, USA.

This looks somewhat like a bumblebee, but it is not. This is a moth species that has evolved into a bumblebee mimic.

The flower cluster is buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis occidentalis), which is native to eastern America. The moth is feeding on nectar.

Classification of plant: Plantae, Angiospermophyta, Gentianales, Rubiaceae

Locality: western side of Newark, central Licking County, central Ohio, USA
