Summary
[edit]DescriptionHelitack crew new.jpg |
English: Springerville, AZ; June 19, 2018— In the late 1960’s the Hannagan Helitack crew was started, in 2002 they moved over to Springerville and became Round Valley Helitack. The organization is about to proudly celebrate their 50th season as Helitack. In 2018, PJ Helicopters became the new vendor this year along with a new helicopter exclusively used for wildland fires. The Bell 407 HP Eagle has many unique features and was the 16th off the assembly line. It comes with 22% more horsepower than their previous Bell 407 and can perform in various high altitudes. Round Valley Helitack is very versatile in their missions along with their primary mission for Initial Attack, they also perform crew shuttles, recons, bucket work, plastic sphere dispenser (PSD) operations, cargo missions, and support to search and rescue. The Helicopter is shared with Idaho’s Panhandle Helitack. Both crews work closely together throughout the fire season wherever they are needed in support of wildland firefighting. |
