Description

Witch-hunt memorial at Anda

Erected as a reminder for posterity and in deep respect for those who during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries were condemned for witchcraft and burned at this place.

1 Corinthians: "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant [...]." Norway's first witch-hunt memorial was unveiled on 9 June 2002. It is an official and national monument in rememberance of the victims of the witch-hunt trials in Norway.

Informationstafel neben dem Hexenverfolgungsdenkmal am Fährterminal Anda Unten eine deutsche Version der Inschrift:

Errichtet als Mahnmal für die Nachwelt und in tiefem Respekt vor denen, die im 16., 17. und 18. Jahrhundert wegen Hexerei verurteilt und an diesem Ort verbrannt wurden. 

1. Korinther: "Die Liebe ist geduldig und gütig; die Liebe neidet nicht und prahlt nicht; sie ist nicht hochmütig [...]."
Norwegens erstes Hexenverfolgungsdenkmal wurde am 9. Juni 2002 eingeweiht. Es ist ein offizielles und nationales Denkmal zur Erinnerung an die Opfer der Hexenverfolgungsprozesse in Norwegen.
