The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) helps people implement conservation on their land. Photo shows healthy, native rangeland under a conservation plan in northwestern South Dakota. The NRCS employee, Gary Hendrickson, captured this scene in late June 2013 while inspecting a water development (pipeline) that provided better water distribution through the pasture. The pipeline will help to better harvest the grass in the pastures by providing quality water while the cattle are grazing thethose parts of the pasture where there was no drinking water before.
