Summary
[edit]DescriptionHeadframeII (3515335861).jpg | The Headrame at Gunnar Mines, on the northern edge of Lake Athabasca. The headframe, like the mill behind it, is about 20 stories high. The entire mine and town (which had held a thousand people) were abandoned in the early 60's when the mine shut down. Many of the houses were later over the ice road to Uranium City, but the mine - and the tailings pond behind it - remains. |
