English: Hawes railway station (site), Yorkshire Opened in 1878 by the Midland Railway as the terminus of a short branch from Hawes Junction (now called Garsdale), an end-on connection with the North Eastern Railway line from Northallerton was soon made. Passenger services to Northallerton ceased in 1954, to Garsdale in 1959. The station closed completely in 1964. View east towards Askrigg and Northallerton. When this image was taken, it was used as a National Park museum with a static train display on a short length of track. |
