Description
Français : Gros plan haubans pont Confolent.

Une partie des câbles de suspension est remplacée, suite à plusieurs avaries, au cours des années 1910-1920.

L’ouvrage en lui-même, long de 140 m, date de 1863. Celui-ci permet de joindre Beauzac à Saint-Maurice de Lignon, en franchissant la Loire. Il remplace un bac, système inadapté aux crues du fleuve, alors que le secteur s’industrialise peu à peu.

La 1ère activité économique notable étant les carrières de Pont de Lignon, tournant à plein afin de soutenir la croissance de la jeune agglomération stéphanoise...

Le pont est concédé durant une trentaine d’années, jusque vers 1890, avec droit de passage.

Ses caractéristiques l’apparentent plutôt aujourd’hui à une grande passerelle, étant interdit aux PL > 6 t, et de largeur inférieure à 2,3 m (cf. signalisation B11+B13 rampes d’accès).

Et toujours l’incontournable viaduc du Lignon en fond.
