Donation Antoine de Galbert. Musée des Confluences, Lyon. Ces épingles étaient piquées dans les délicates coiffures des femmes et dans les chapeaux des hommes mangbetu. La plupart étaient fabriquées en bois, en métal ou en os, mais les plus précieuses, sculptées en ivoire d'éléphant, signalaient les personnes de haut rang. Elles faisaient partie descadeaux échangés entre amoureux, mais servaient aussi d'accessoire pour le soin des ongles et des petites plaies : notice du musée. |
